Going Dancing

Thanks to mass chaos the last week and a half or so, this endeavor hasn't even crossed my mind, but nonetheless here I sit in the Birmingham airport on my way to Tampa to cover the First and hopefully second rounds of the NCAA Tournament as the 12th seeded Toppers take on the 5th seeded Drake Bulldogs.

We're in Birmingham because nearly all the flights out of Nashville today were booked, thus we decided to make the drive nearly four hours to fly out of Birmingham. We should arrive in Tampa around 9:30 Eastern time and then will check into our swanky media hotel that our adviser Mr. Bob (cough, cough) Adams reserved for us. What a swell man he is.

This should be quite a journey, tomorrow will be open practices and media day and then the Toppers tip off at 12:30 eastern time on Friday.

I'm traveling with the Boss, Judson, and the photog, Daniel. It's quite a crew.

While much of the talk this part of the week has been about the Topper's first Tourney appearance since 2003, there maybe a bigger event in Tampa that will overshadow the madness over at the forum.

WKU Media Relations Director, Brian Fremund has dubbed it the "Brawl to end it All." The brawl is a tennis match between myself and WKU radio play-by-play man Randy Lee. When the cameras aren't on and the questions aren't being asked, the match has been the talk of those who follow the Toppers. While no time or place has been set for the match, Fremund suggested a late evening match so that the onlookers could have a few libations and their system and provide plenty of rowdiness.

Well that's it from B-ham for now, depending if I can get free internet at the hotel, if not I'll talk to you all in the morning before all the fun starts.
