Royals fans knew coming into 2008 they needed another quality starter on the mound. And maybe another quality outfielder for Reggie Sanders or Emil Brown or Both.
But what Royals fans got today was something totally unexpected.
A first-base coach named Rusty Kuntz.
Let the jokes roll and the water cooler talk begin, but Rusty is for real. Here's one to start off for you.
Mark Teahen: "Hey John, you're slow how'd you get to second base?"
John Buck: "Rusty Kuntz got me to second base."
Mark Teahen would then give that shit-eating grin and giggle. As would the rest of the dugout, and then some latin player like Jorge De La Rosa would let this out.
"Zach Grienke's mom likes Rusty Kuntz." Which would send Zach right back to the looney-bin.
Can't he be Russ or something. I mean c'mon, Rusty Kuntz? Really?
In other bad news, Luis Silverio was moved to third base coach. There is no middle ground with Silverio, you're either sent or your stayed. Nothing in the middle, there are no risks.
Trey Hillman seems like a good guy. He says he wants to focus on playing catch. Catch is good. Maybe he'll cut that shit that Esteban German does when he gets what he thinks is going to be a hit when he flips his bat. As if there wasn't enough excitement about 2008 with Bannister, Alex Gordon, Billy Butler, Meche, and the always funny Teahen now they have a 44 year-old manager that is going to bring a hard-working, hard-nosed attitude.
And he hired a first base coach with a filthy name.
-In other Royal's news, it was announced today that most ticket prices will be increased by nearly 15%. While it had to come, its disapointing. You used to be able to go out to the "K" and watch a game for $7, plus parking. Now it will be more expensive, and they've declared some games as Premium games. I'll still support the Royals. Hopefully they see how the young kids like myself supported them and let us in on College nights for a fair amount.
Or Ill just intern again, and get paid to watch the Bigs.

WOW, more money to watch the Royals, well if what you've said lately is true, it'll be well worth the investment.
